GLOW Work & Learn
Building capacity for work & civic based learning across the region. The Portal seeks to assist educators, students, businesses, and families find the right opportunities.

GLOW work & learn portal (prototype phase)
The GLOW Work & Learn Portal is an emerging, regionally developed tool designed to strengthen the connection between students, schools, businesses, and community partners across Wyoming County and the broader GLOW region. Its purpose is simple but powerful: to make career exploration, work-based learning, and civic engagement opportunities more accessible, coordinated, and meaningful for our students.
At its core, the portal is being built to support the full continuum of a student’s journey from school to the workforce. From early career awareness to hands-on experiences like job shadows, internships, workplace tours, and civic learning opportunities; students, families, and guidance counselors can seek out opportunities. By bringing these opportunities into one shared space, we are working to reduce barriers, streamline communication, and help educators and employers more efficiently connect students to real-world experiences that prepare them for life after graduation.
This work reflects our belief that career readiness is civic readiness. When students can see clear pathways to local careers and community leadership, they are more likely to stay, contribute, and lead within our communities. The portal is also designed to support schools in aligning with evolving graduation expectations, including increased emphasis on applied learning and civic engagement.
Importantly, the GLOW Work & Learn Portal is currently in the prototype phase. We are actively gathering feedback from educators, employers, and community stakeholders to ensure the platform reflects real-world workflows, supports equitable access, and adds value to the systems already in place.
